Stakd

In 2017, the US was hit by a series of devastating climate events— hurricanes, wildfires, mudslides, and heatwaves — that displaced more than 1 million people.  Stakd helps municipalities, non-profits, and other government organizations plan for an influx of internal climate migrants by providing pre-manufactured housing that can be rapidly deployed and shipped anywhere. By combining advanced building materials with joinery techniques we can create a simple, low-cost, “unfoldable” house which can be quickly assembled for people most in need. Stakd replaces tents, motels, and car seats with the permanence of home.
